On September 24, 2025, during the early morning hours, Millburn Police received a report of three male suspects stealing mail from the exterior drop box at the Millburn Post Office. The suspects fled the area in a white BMW X4. Millburn Officer Kerwien later located the vehicle near the Short Hills Post Office and conducted a motor vehicle stop. A search of the vehicle recovered stolen mail belonging to 62 individuals, 31 stolen checks, and fictitious license plates. The suspects, identified as Wilfrey Pena-Perex, age 22, of Bronx, NY; Jean Garcia-Ogando, age 26, of Newark, NJ; and Luis Lopez-Delacruz, age 24, of Passaic, NJ, were arrested. They were each charged with theft of movable property, trafficking identity theft, and conspiracy.

On September 27, 2025, Millburn Police responded to a report of an overturned vehicle on Main Street. Officers arrived to find a BMW X2 overturned in the southbound lanes. The investigation determined that the vehicle had struck a parked car, causing it to overturn. The driver, identified as Martha Novick Nadel, age 73, of Springfield, was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was charged with DWI and later released to an acquaintance.

On September 28, 2025 Millburn Police responded to 440 Parsonage Hill Rd on report of a MVA in the parking lot. The investigation led to the arrest of Linda Parella, age 68, of Union for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was charged DWI and released to an acquaintance.

On September 28, 2025, Millburn Police responded to Millburn municipal lot 1 on a report of an intoxicated male attempting to leave in a vehicle. Officer Neequaye locate the suspect sitting in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running. The investigation led to the arrest of David Lederman, age 67, of Millburn NJ for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI.

On September 30, 2025 Millburn Police responded to the intersection of Wyoming and Glen Ave on a report of two motor vehicle accident. The accident investigation led to the arrest of Deborah Macevoy-Jaobbsen, age 63, of Long Hill. She was charged with DWI, refusal to submit breath tests, and reckless driving.

On October 1, 2025 Millburn Police Officer Sweeney stopped a Jeep Grand Cherokee on South Orange Ave for Motor vehicle violations. The investigation led to the arrest of Maklin Cruz, age 42, of Newark NJ for suspicion of DWI.

On October 3, 2025 Millburn Police Officer Tucker located a vehicle stopped at a traffic light that remained motionless for two traffic cycles. He pulled behind the vehicle with the police lights on and approached the driver. The driver appeared to be sleeping. At this time, the driver woke up and drove away. Officer Tucker pursued the vehicle who ran a red light and struck the concrete median before officers were able to get the vehicle stopped. Further investigation led to the arrest of Lauren Blackwood, age 37 PA. She was charged with eluding and DWI.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
