Secaucus Police Blotter 02/17/2020 - 02/23/2020

Last week's arrests and incidents as released by the Secaucus police.

On 02/17/2020 at 4:32 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 57 year old male, Antonio Maldonado of Secaucus, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office with no bail. Mr. Maldonado was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Maldonado was issued 1 motor vehicle summons. Officer’s from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Secaucus Police Department and took custody of Mr. Maldonado for transport back to their agency.

On 02/18/2020 at 4:07 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 35 year old male, Jesse Montufar of Union City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $500.00 with a 10% option, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ in the amount of $500.00 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Elizabeth, NJ in the amount of $250.00 with a 10% option. Mr. Montufar was able to post bail for the warrants issued out of Secaucus, NJ and Elizabeth, NJ. Mr. Montufar was unable to post bail for the warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ. Mr. Montufar was issued 5 motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the North Bergen Police Department.

On 02/18/2020 at 6:27 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 44 year old male, Ibrihim Bangura of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $125.00. Mr. Bangura was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 5 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On 02/20/2020 at 7:34 AM, the Secaucus Police observed a suspicious person in the area of 1 Meadowlands Parkway. During the investigation, the police arrested a 31 year old male, Jesus Ndong Mele of Secaucus, NJ for Obstructing the Administration of Law [2C:29-1] after running from the police during the course of the investigation. Mr. Ndong Mele was served his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 02/20/2020 at 1:47 PM, in furtherance of an investigation being conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division in regards to an assault that occurred at 84 Henry St on 02/06/2020, the police arrested a 44 year old male, Frank Perez of West New York, NJ for Aggravated Assault [2C:12-1B(1)], Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4D] and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5D]. Mr. Perez was served his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 02/20/2020 at 11:25 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive on a report that an alleged actor from a previous Robbery incident that occurred at Walmart on 01/03/2020 was at that location. During the investigation, the police arrested a 25 year old female, Kiana Miller of Paterson, NJ for Robbery [2C:15-1A(1)], Aggravated Assault [2C:12-1B(7)] and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4D] stemming from the incident that occurred on 01/03/2020. Ms. Miller was further charged with Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] for the incident that occurred on 02/20/2020. Ms. Miller was served her complaint warrant for the incident that occurred on 01/03/2020 and her complaint summons for the incident that occurred on 02/20/2020 and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 02/21/2020 at 4:24 PM, Secaucus Police responded to UPS located at 493 County Ave on a report of a male using a fraudulent ID. During the investigation, the police arrested a 23 year old male, Jesus Valera-Pereyra of Newark, NJ for Criminal Attempt of Theft by Deception [2C:5-1A(1)], Possession of Fraudulent Documents [2C:21-2.1D] and Identity Theft [2C:21-17A(1)]. Mr. Valera-Pereyra was served his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On 02/22/2020 at 2:59 AM, Secaucus Police responded to the area of Wayback Burger located at 83 Plaza Centre Road on a report of a suspicious vehicle that reportedly struck a curb. During the investigation, the police arrested a 42 year old female, Latoya Pope of Newark, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Ms. Pope was issued 4 additional motor vehicle summonses to go along with the charge of Driving While Intoxicated and was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On 02/23/2020 at 3:57 PM, Secaucus Police responded to Kohl’s located at 3 Millcreek Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 42 year old male, Rashid Khan of Secaucus, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)]. Mr. Khan was served his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On 02/23/2020 at 11:05 PM, Officer’s from the Union City Police Department responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters to transfer custody of a 67 year old male, Jorge Diaz of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $250.00. Mr. Diaz was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
