Theft
10/06/2025-Officers responded to 122 Bloomfield Avenue (7-Eleven) on report of a Bicycle Theft. A male left his e-Bike outside while he went inside the store and when he returned he noticed it was missing. The bicycle was valued at $250.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/06/2025-Detectives responded to 9 State Street (State Street Grill) on report of a Theft that occurred on 10/02/2025. The complainant provided video surveillance footage of two males siphoning old cooking oil from a tank into the rear of a white cargo van. The oil was valued at $100.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/06/2025-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Package Theft from the 200 block Bloomfield Avenue. According to the resident, a package was delivered on 10/02/2025 to the lobby of the building, however when he went to retrieve it, it was missing. The package contained guitar parts valued at $62.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/08/2025-Officers responded to the area of Arlington Avenue on report of a Package Theft. According to a resident, a package was delivered on 10/01/2025 to the lobby of the building, however when she went to retrieve it, it was missing. The package contained hair extensions valued at $75.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/08/2025-Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male concealed packages of Sour Patch Kids in his sweatshirt and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $50.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/09/2025-Officers responded to the area of Lackawanna Avenue and Glenwood Avenue on report of a Bicycle Theft. A male chained his e-Bike to a bike rack at 5:00a.m., and when he returned at 4:00p.m., he noticed it missing. The e-Bike was valued at $190.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/09/2025-Officers responded to 60 West Street (Westbridge Academy) on report of a Theft. According to the complainant, his wallet was taken from the school sometime during the school day. The wallet contained credit cards, a Driver’s License and $350.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/10/2025-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took detergent and cleaning spray and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $13.97. This incident is under investigation.

10/10/2025-Officers responded to the area of Beach Street on report of a Package Theft. A resident was outside waiting for a FedEx delivery and observed the driver hand his package to an unknown individual. The package contained gold and silver coins valued at $4000.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/10/2025-Juvenile male age 17 of Bloomfield, NJ and Juvenile male age 17 of Phillipsburg, NJ. Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, two males concealed packages of beef jerky in their backpacks and attempted to leave the store without paying. When approached by the store manager, the suspects returned the items but refused to leave the store. Officers arrived and transported the juveniles to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

10/11/2025-Vance Rouse age 55 of Newark, NJ. Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar Tree) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took ice cream and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $85.25. Officers located the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters where he was processed accordingly.

10/11/2025-Officers responded to the area of North 15th Street on report of a Package Theft. According to a resident, an Amazon package was delivered sometime during the day, however when he went to retrieve it, it was missing. The package contained dog toys and measuring cups valued at $40.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/12/2025-Officers responded to the area of Alfred Lane on report of a Theft from Auto. According to a resident, his vehicle was entered and rummaged through sometime overnight. A bottle of cologne and $50.00 was missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.


Motor Vehicle Theft
10/10/2025-Officers responded to the 400 block of Essex Avenue on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident left her vehicle running and unlocked while she went inside the residence and when she returned, the vehicle was missing. The vehicle, a gray 2022 Kia Niro, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.


Burglary
10/09/2025-Officers responded to the area of Park Avenue on report of a Burglary. According to the complainant, video surveillance footage showed a male use a screwdriver to enter the front door of the apartment building. Once inside, the male took a package of hair extensions that were delivered earlier in the day. This incident is under investigation.

10/12/2025-Officers responded to 125 Bloomfield Avenue (Bloomfield Jewelry) on report of a Burglary. Upon arrival Officers observed the front window and inside door glass were shattered. Upon further inspection, several display cases were shattered and jewelry was missing. The value of the jewelry is unknown at this time. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
