1. On Sept. 18, 2025, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Police Officers Zackary Guido was on patrol
when he observed a man he could identify as 60-year-old William Johnson of Weehawken, on
the 400 block of Newark Street and believed him to have an outstanding warrant out of Hoboken
for theft of movable property. Police Officers David Chicara, Anish Bhisey, Geovanni Cruzado
and Ahmed Makshat arrived to assist. The warrant was confirmed, and Johnson was placed
under arrest. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where it was discovered he
had a second warrant out of Hudson County for burglary. After being processed, Johnson was
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
2. On Sept. 18, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Police Officers Aaron Font and Jonathan
Figueroa responded to the 100 block of Garden Street on reports that someone pulled a fire alarm
for no reason. The Hoboken Fire Department also responded. An on-scene investigation revealed
that a man, later identified as 22-year-old Mamadou Barry of Jersey City, was in the building
delivering food and pulled the fire alarm because he couldn’t figure out how to exit the building.
Barry was arrested, transported to the Hoboken Police Headquarters, and charged with creating
false public alarm. After processing, he was released on summons.
3. On Sept. 18, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Police Officer Jairo De La Cruz responded to
Hoboken Police Headquarters to process 32-year-old Shanell Shivlall of Richmond Hill, NY
who turned herself in on a warrant out of Atlantic City. She posted bail and was released.
4. On Sept. 18, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Police Officers Enrico Gnassi and Joseph
Lupo responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifting, where the actor was in
custody of store security. An on-scene investigation revealed 56-year-old Mehmet Degerli of
Cliffside Park, was seen entering the store, placing packages of meat in his cart, and then
covering the packages with a shopping bag. At self-checkout, Degerli was seen paying for all the
items in his cart, except for what he had covered with the shopping bag, which totaled
approximately $80. He was stopped by security at the exit. Degerli was arrested for shoplifting,
taken to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and released on a summons.
5. On Sept. 18, 2025, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Police Officers John Rodriguez and Michael
Chen responded to Hoboken University Medical Center, 308 Willow St., on reports of hospital
staff finding suspected CDS on an individual, later identified as 27-year-old Elizabeth Ormeno of
North Bergen. Officers took possession of the suspected CDS, which included three unopened
white wax folds containing a white powdery substance suspected to be illegal CDS, one small
plastic container with a black lid containing two white crystal rocks, one small plastic container
with an orange lid containing suspected CDS residue, one small Ziplock bag containing two
pills, one small transparent Ziplock bag containing a white crystal substance, a small bunt
cigarette with suspected marijuana inside, one jagged glass cylindrical pipe broken and burnt on
both ends with copper mesh inside of it, and other drug paraphernalia. Ormeno was placed under
arrest and charged with multiple counts of possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia,
and aggravated assault. All charges were placed on a warrant, and Ormeno was ultimately
transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
6. On Sept. 19, 2025, at approximately 4:25 a.m., Police Officers Ahmed Makshat and Michael
Aviles responded to Hoboken Police Headquarters to take custody of 36-year-old Christian
Davalos of Union City. Union City Police officers had transported Davalos, after discovering he
had an outstanding warrant in Hoboken for shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After processing, he was transported to the Hudson County Correction Facility.
7. On Sept. 19, 2025, at approximately 10:45 a.m., Police Officer Jessica Pizanie was on patrol
on the 500 block of Marshall Drive, when she observed two people she could identify as 35-
year-old Paige Hill of Hoboken and 32-year-old Taquana Dixon of Hoboken in a verbal dispute.
She observed the argument escalating into a physical altercation. The individuals were separated,
issued summons for disorderly conduct, and released on the scene.
8. On Sept. 19, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Police Officers Brandon Fitzgibbons and
Frank Lombardo reported to the Union County Correctional Facility to take custody of 22-yearold Terrance McDonald of Elizabeth and transported him to Hoboken Police Headquarters on a
bail jumping charge. McDonald was wanted on a warrant for loitering to obtain or distribute
CDS. After being processed, he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
9. On Sept. 19, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Sgt. Harold Milne and Police Officer Thomas
Graziano were on patrol on the 50 block of Washington Street, when they observed a man, they
could identify as 47-year-old Alan Lobel of Hoboken and knew he had an outstanding warrant.
The warrant for criminal mischief was confirmed and Lobel was arrested. A search incident to
arrest located a glass cylindrical pipe burnt at one end and a thin metal bar. Lobel was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing. He was charged with bail jumping
and possession of drug paraphernalia, before ultimately being transported to the Hudson County
Correctional Facility.
10. On Sept. 20, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Police Officers Aaron Font, Anthony
Hochstadter, Nocholas Protopapadakis, and Frank Losurdo responded to the 50 block of Newark
Street, on reports of an individual blocking the entrance of the Hoboken Fire Department. One of
the callers reported the man stated he had a weapon. Officers located a man who matched the
description, identified as 54-year-old Osvaldo Cruz of the Bronx. No charges were filed against
Cruz, but it was discovered he had an open failure to appear warrant for theft out of Hoboken. He
was released into the custody of a local hospital with a new court date.
11. On Sept. 21, 2025, at approximately 6:50 a.m., Police Officer Daniella Simone responded to
the 500 block of Sinatra Drive on reports of harassment. An on-scene investigation revealed a
man threw an empty bottle toward a municipal vehicle in the area of Pier A Park and then locked
himself in the bathroom of a nearby restaurant. Police Officer Donovan Otiz located a man who
fit the description, later identified as 36-year-old Andrews Dority of Jersey City, on the 400
block of Washington Street. It was determined he had an active warrant out of the Hudson
County Sheriff's Office and was placed under arrest. He was ultimately transported to the
Hudson County Correction Facility
12. On Sept. 21, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Police Officers David Smentkowski, Ryan
Capogna, and Adrian Comayagua were on the 900 block of Madison Street, when they observed
a man later identified as 49-year-old Victor Rivera of Jersey City, sitting in a small park
surrounded by packages. Officers could see that many of the packages were addressed to other
people. Rivera was arrested for receiving stolen property. A search incident to arrest located a
glass cylindrical pipe burnt at one end, a thin piece of metal, and a screwdriver. He was
additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglar tools.
Rivera was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and processed, before being transported
to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
13. On Sept. 22, 2025, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Police Officers Carmen Benitez and Donovan
Ortiz were on patrol near the intersection of Fourth and River Streets when they saw a vehicle
with the hazards on, make a U-turn, and pass barricades in place for a construction project. The
driver, later identified as 42-year-old David Batson of Virginia, got out of the vehicle and walked
away. Officers ordered him to stop, but Batson jogged away. He was stopped and placed under
arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. It was determined the vehicle he had
been driving was stolen out of Jersey City earlier in the day. The car had two flat tires and front
bumper damage consistent with having been in a collision. Batson was given a standard field
sobriety test and then refused to submit breath samples. It was discovered he had an open
warrant out of Virginia. He was charged with receiving stolen property, obstructing the
administration of the law, driving under the influence, refusal to submit breath samples, failure to
exhibit documents, and reckless driving. He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County
Correctional Facility.
14. On Sept. 22, 2025, at approximately 1:25 p.m., Sgt. Wilfredo Gomez and Police Officers
Anthony Rutkowski and Anthony Olivera responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of
a shoplifting. Store security had an individual, later identified as 50-year-old Claudia Pondler of
Brooklyn, in custody. An on-scene investigation revealed Pondler put multiple items in a
personal bag, as well as in a grocery cart. When she checked out, Pondler only paid for the items
in the cart, but did not pay about $100 for the items in the bag. Security stopped her as she
attempted to leave the store. She was arrested and charged with shoplifting. After being
processed at Hoboken Police Headquarters, Pondler was released on a summons.
15. On Sept. 23, 2025, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Police Officers Trevor Thomas and Donvan
Ortiz were on patrol when they observed a man on the 200 block of Marshall Drive standing
between a glass wall and a railing. As officers approached to investigate further, the man, later
identified as 38-year-old Juan Ruiz of West New York, began to walk away. Officers noticed a
small clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance believed to be CDS, in the area
where Ruiz had been standing. He was arrested for possession of CDS and possession of drug
paraphernalia. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing before being
taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
16. On Sept. 23, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Sgt. Harold Milne and Police Officer Thomas
Graziano were on patrol, where they saw a man, they could identify as 34-year-old Shadick
Shamsuddin of West New York riding on an e-scooter. It was confirmed that he had four
outstanding warrants; two out of Hoboken for shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia,
one out of Secaucus, and one out of Hudson County. A short time later, Police Officer John
Lawton located Shamsuddin riding his scooter into ResilienCity park, 1201 Madison St. Police
Officers Sheynna Vega and Rose Kanan arrived to assist. Shamsuddin was located in the park
and arrested. A search incident to arrest found him to be in possession of six wax folds
containing CDS. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where a glass cylindrical
pipe, copper mesh, and several push rods were found in his backpack. He was charged with
possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. After processing, he was transported to
the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
17. On Sept. 24, 2025, at approximately 10 a.m., Police Officers Shawn Sodora and Frank
Lombardo responded to the 1300 block of Washington Street on reports of someone brandishing
a weapon at another person. Officers located one of the individuals involved, later identified as
35-year-old Reymundo Rodridguez of Hoboken. An investigation determined Rodridguez and
another man got into an argument inside the building. When both parties went outside,
Rodridguez pointed a large knife at the other man and threatened to kill him. The other person
ran back inside the building. Rodridguez left the scene. Officers determined he disposed of the
knife before he came back to the building. Rodridguez was charged with making terroristic
threats, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon, certain
parsons not to have a weapon, and simple assault. He was processed at Hoboken Police
Headquarters and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
18. On Sept. 24, 2025, at approximately 1 p.m., Police Officers Anthony Olivera and Teddy
Santiago were on patrol on the 300 block of Jackson Street when they were approached by two
people who said another man just pepper sprayed them. A few moments later, the victims
pointed out the actor, who officers could identify as 45-year-old Juan Lopez of JerseyCity, riding
by, on an electric scooter. Lopez sped up, but lost control and fell off the scooter. An on-scene
investigation revealed the victim’s vehicle almost collided with Lopez’ scooter, when Lopez
failed to stop at a stop-sign. Lopez then followed the other vehicle, pulled up next to it at a red
light, and pepper sprayed the driver. Lopez was arrested and a search incident to arrest located a
cigarette dipped in CDS. He was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a
weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, interference with transportation,
possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS, and certain persons not to have a weapon.
He was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
19. On Sept. 24, 2025, at approximately 2:35 p.m., Police Officer Frank Lombardo processed the
arrest of 44-year-old Damont Dyer of North Bergen, who was brought to Hoboken Police
Headquarters by Weehawken Police. Dyer was wanted on a warrant from Hoboken for
possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as one from Hudson County for criminal sexual
contact. Dyer was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
20. On Sept. 24, 2025, at approximately 5:05 p.m., Police Officers Mario Rodriguez and Jairo
De La Cruz were on the 300 block of Harrison Street and heard a fire alarm going off inside a
residential building. They called the Hoboken Fire Department, and as they were approaching
the building they came in contact with a woman, later identified as 19-year-old Mikayla Inellus
of Jersey City. It was later determined that Inellus had pulled the fire alarm, without reason. She
was placed under arrest for a false public alarm. She was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters for processing. It was discovered she had a warrant out of New York City and one
out of Hudson County Superior Court. She was additionally charged with being a fugitive from
justice. She was ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
21. On Sept. 24, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Police Officer Anthony Olivera was near the
intersection of Newark and Jackson Streets when he saw a vehicle drive the wrong way in a
turning lane at an unusually slow rate of speed. As the driver passed by, the Officer identified
him as Miguel Mongon, and it appeared he was under the influence of a narcotic. Police Officer
Kyle Seper located the vehicle in a parking lot on the 300 block of Harrison Street. Det. Fabian
Quinones and Police Officers Anthony Azzoline and Joshua Campoverde arrived to assist.
Mongon, who was still in the driver's seat, rolled down the window, and was observed to have
watery and glassy eyes. He was slow to retrieve requested documents and unable to find his
driver's license. Police Officers Stephen Chowanec and Leroy Sherrill arrived on the scene to
assist. A field sobriety test was performed, after which he was arrested for driving while
intoxicated, and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing. He was issued
summonses for driving while intoxicated, obstructing traffic, reckless driving, driving with a
suspended driver's license, being unlicensed, and CDS in a motor vehicle. As per John’s Law,
Mongon was released into the custody of a responsible party.
