On October 5, 2025, Millburn Police Detective Rebelo concluded an investigation into a vehicle burglary
that occurred on September 25, 2025, at The Mall at Short Hills. The investigation determined that the
suspect entered a Jeep Wrangler and stole merchandise from inside the vehicle. As a result of the
investigation, Lenon Emojj, age 18, of Newark, was identified and charged with Burglary.
On October 18, 2025 Millburn Officer Bifano stopped a silver Honda Civic on JFK Parkway north for a
motor vehicle violation. After further investigation an Essex County Sherriff K9 was dispatched to the
scene. The K-9 walked around the vehicle and gave a positive alert for the presence of narcotics. The
vehicle was then searched. A straw was located with white residue powder (suspected to be cocaine).
The driver Peter Wylie, age 29, of Cedar Grove was arrested and charged with possession of CDS and
Possession of Paraphernalia.
On October 19, 2025 Millburn Police Officer Matos stopped a Nissan Versa at the Short Hills Mall for
having stolen Mississippi license plates on the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded for being
unregistered. The driver Alexis Turner, age 26, of Paterson was charged with receiving stolen property.
On October 20, 2025 Millburn Officer Sweeney stooped a bicyclist on rt 124 for a traffic violation. He
provided false information to the Officer. He was placed under arrest. Jerry Thomas, age 33, from Texas
was charged with Hindering.
On October 21, 2025, Millburn Police responded to JFK Parkway on a report of a Hispanic male who
allegedly threw a rock at a vehicle exiting The Mall at Short Hills, causing damage to the vehicle’s rear
door. Officers located the suspect a short distance away, and the victim positively identified him as the
individual involved. The suspect Mario Cuxchan, age 24, was placed under arrest and charged with
Criminal Mischief and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
On October 27, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Sweeney observed a male entering Walgreens who had
previously been trespassed from the store. The officer made contact with the individual and placed him
under arrest. A search incident to arrest resulted in the recovery of two pipes containing suspected
crack cocaine residue, prescription pills belonging to another person, and stolen merchandise from
Walgreens. William Minitee, age 53, of Irvington, was charged with Possession of a Controlled
Dangerous Substance (CDS), Possession of Prescription Drugs Without a Prescription, Shoplifting, and
Defiant Trespassing.
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or
are found guilty in a court of law.
