Theft
10/21/2025-Officers responded to the area of Belleville Avenue on report of a Theft from Auto. A resident parked his vehicle on the street overnight and when he returned to it the following morning, he noticed the rear and passenger door locks were removed. Various power tools were missing from the vehicle. The tools were valued at $2100.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/21/2025-Jerome Bush age 33 of Belleville NJ and Johnathan Chapel age 38 of Irvington NJ. Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, two males took body wash and deodorants and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $118.03. Officers were able to locate the suspects nearby and placed them under arrest. The suspects were transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

10/22/2025-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Theft from the area of Weaver Avenue. The complainant locked his e-Bike on the side of the house overnight and when he returned the following morning, it was missing. The e-Bike was valued at $600.00. This incident is under investigation.

10/22/2025-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a female took detergent and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $11.90. This incident is under investigation.

10/22/2025-Philip Johnson age 56 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took several packs of toothpaste and attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $106.02. The suspect was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

10/23/2025-Officers responded to the area of Newark Avenue on report of a Theft from Auto. A resident parked his vehicle on the street overnight and when he returned to it the following morning, he noticed it was rummaged through. A set of keys and $115.00 was missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

10/24/2025-Officers responded to the area of Llewellyn Avenue on report of a Theft from Auto. A resident noticed that his vehicle glove compartment was open and the vehicle was rummaged through. There was nothing reported missing from the vehicle at this time. This incident is under investigation.

10/24/2025-Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed three packs of Red Bull in his backpack and attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $89.97. The Loss Prevention Officer was able to retrieve the items, however, the suspect fled the scene. This incident is under investigation.

10/24/2025-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters on report of a Theft in the area of Farrand Street. According the resident, several clothing items were missing from a closet in her home. The resident believes that the cleaning company is responsible for the missing items. The missing clothing items are valued at $3278.48. This incident is under investigation.

10/26/2025-Officers responded to the area of Royalton Place on report of a Package Theft. A resident received a notification that a package was delivered however when she returned home, the package was missing. The package contained clothing valued at $45.00. This incident is under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Theft
10/20/2025-Officers responded to the area of Dodd Street on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident provided surveillance video of two males taking his moped from the rear parking lot of the apartment building. The moped, a black 2025 JLA, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

10/23/2025-Officers responded to the area of JFK Drive South on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident left his vehicle unlocked and running in front of his residence while he went inside for approximately ten minutes. When the resident returned, the vehicle was missing. The vehicle, a black 2013 BMW, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

Burglary
10/20/2025-Officers responded to 131 Bloomfield Avenue (Sally’s Beauty Supply) on report of a Burglary. According to the store manager, a male entered the business through the rear door by using a knife to pry it open. Surveillance video showed the suspect take several hair dryers. This incident is under investigation.

10/21/2025-Officers responded to 106 Montgomery Street on report of a Burglary. The complainant noticed several construction materials missing from the property. Surveillance video showed two males load the materials into a blue minivan. The materials were valued at $6000.00. This incident is under investigation.

Robbery
10/20/2025-Officers responded to 34 Bloomfield Avenue (Bloomfield Pharmacy) on report of an Armed Robbery. According to a store employee, two suspects entered the business with handguns and demanded OxyContin. The suspects took several different medications then fled the area. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
