Local Man Charged with Manslaughter in Bayonne Domestic Dispute

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Bayonne Police Department are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Monday, November 3, 2025.

Shortly before 10:20 p.m., the Bayonne Police Department was notified of a dispute at 17 Meadow Street. Responding officers located a male – later identified as Richard Arcos, 41, of Garfield – with an apparent stab wound. He was pronounced dead just after 11:15 p.m. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

During the course of the investigation, Andrew Fuentes, 28, of Bayonne, was charged with Aggravated Manslaughter in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-4a(1), Possession of a Weapon (knife) for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4d, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (knife) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5d. He was taken into custody at the scene and this matter is being investigated as a domestic dispute.

Acting Prosecutor Mello credited the Homicide Unit and the Bayonne Police Department with the investigation and arrest. The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
