1. On Sept. 26, 2025, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Police Officer Stephen Chowanec responded
to CVS, 59 Washington St., on reports of a shoplifting. Police Officers Alexander Miller, John
Lawton, Shyenna Vega, and Leroy Sherill also responded. An on-scene investigation revealed an
individual, later identified as 42-year-old Jamel Lewis of Orange, was seen taking $8.02 worth of
soda and chips from the store and pretending to pay for them. It was discovered Lewis had an
outstanding warrant out of Hoboken, and he was placed under arrest for the warrant and for
shoplifting. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing, where he
refused to be fingerprinted. He was further charged with refusal to submit fingerprinting. He was
ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
2. On Sept. 26, 2025, at approximately 8 p.m. Police Officers Stephen Chowanec, Nicholas
Losardo, and Brian Kim responded to Hoboken Police Headquarters to process the arrest of 30-
year-old Aliquan Flowers of New York City, who was transported by Jersey City Police
Department. Flowers had a warrant out of Hoboken for assault. After being processed, Flowers
was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
3. On Sept. 27, 2025, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Police Officers Aaron Font and Shawn Sodora
were on patrol, when they saw a man, they could identify as 33-year-old Justin Reyes of Union
City and believed him to have a warrant for his arrest. They located him near the 9th Street Light
Rail station, and the warrant was confirmed. He was placed under arrest, and a search located
seven hypodermic needles and several wax folds with a white powdery substance inside. He was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and processed on multiple warrants for shoplifting
out of Hoboken and one out of Union City. He was additionally charged with possession of drug
paraphernalia and possession of CDS. Reyes was ultimately transported to the Hudson County
Correctional Facility.
4. On Sept. 28, 2025, at approximately 9 p.m., Police Officers David Smentkowski and Matthew
Bonanno responded to the 100 block of Clinton Street on reports of a person walking around a
residential apartment building that she did not live in. They located a woman, later identified as
23-year-old Ingrid Jimenez of Massachusetts. An on-scene investigation revealed Jimenez tried
to get into at least one apartment. She could not provide a legitimate and lawful reason to be
inside the building, and she was arrested for burglary. She was transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters where it was discovered she had an outstanding warrant from Massachusetts for
reckless endangerment of a child and felony assault on a child. She was additionally charged
with being a fugitive from justice. Jimenez was transported to the Hudson County Correctional
Facility and ultimately extradited back to Massachusetts.
5. On Sept. 28, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Police Officer Keven De La Cruz responded
to 8th Street Tavern, on reports of a person who had been assaulted. Sgt. Roary Miller and
Officer Matthew Bonanno arrived to assist. An on-scene investigation determined there was a
verbal argument inside the bar. While being escorted out of the bar, one of those involved in the
argument fell, suffering injuries to his head. He was transported to an area hospital. An on-scene
investigation resulted in the arrest of a bouncer, later identified as 30-year-old Pierce Donegan of
Hoboken. He was charged with aggravated assault and transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters. After processing, he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
6. On Sept. 30, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Police Officer David Smentkowski observed a
vehicle with tinted windows and a missing head light traveling at a high rate of speed on
Observer Highway. The vehicle made a few sharp turns and continued to operate at a high speed,
before being pulled over. It was discovered the driver, identified as 29-year-old Laye Kamara of
Newark, had a suspended license. He also had an outstanding warrant out of Newark. He was
arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was processed on the
warrant, issued a summons for driving while suspended and careless driving, and ultimately
released from custody.
7. On Sept. 30, 2025, at approximately 6:50 a.m., Police Officers Trevor Thomas and Brandon
Cappelluti located a woman, later identified as 38-year-old Megan Klutsarit of Freehold, who
was sitting on the sidewalk with her belongings scattered on the ground, causing an obstruction
to others passing by. It was discovered she had an active warrant out of Freehold, and she was
arrested. She was also issued a summons for obstruction of streets. She was ultimately
transported to the Freehold Police Department.
8. On Sept. 30, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., 33-year-old Daniel Gildea of Staten Island,
walked into Hoboken Police Headquarters to be processed on a complaint related to an incident
on Aug. 21, 2025, where someone damaged the exit gate at Garage B, 47 Second St., by trying to
raise it by hand. A follow-up investigation by Police Officer Joshua Campoverde, identified
Gildea as the actor. After being processed, he was released from police custody.
9. On Sept. 30, 2025, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Police Officer Anthony Olivera responded to
Walgreens, 1300 Willow Ave., on reports of a shoplifting. Police Officer Jessica Pizanie arrived
to assist and determined two actors had left and were headed east on 13th Street. Officer Olivera
located two individuals who fit the description on 14th Street near Garden Street and stopped
them. It was determined that one of the individuals, later identified as 44-year-old Edwin Rivera
of Jersey City, had an outstanding warrant from Bayonne for theft. The other individual was
released from the scene. Rivera was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters,
before being taken to Bayonne Police Department.
10. On Sept. 30, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Police Officer Anthony Rutkowski,
responded to the 600 block of Fourth Street, on reports of a person waving around a knife. Sgt.
Tyler Soto also responded. Witnesses told officers the woman had driven away. Officer
Rutkowski located a vehicle that matched a description of the actor's car on the 300 block of
Harrison Street and activated his emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to pull the vehicle
over, which it eventually did. Lt. Edward Sellick and Police Officers Jonathan Figueroa and
Christopher Barral responded to assist. An on-scene investigation revealed the woman, identified
as 56-year-old Daisy Sepulveda of Hoboken, had been walking around waving a small object
and pointed it at a child, causing public fear. A search of the car located a small foldable blade.
Sepulveda was arrested for possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession
of a weapon, making terroristic threats, and endangering the welfare of a child. Sepulveda was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing. She was ultimately released on a
summons.
11. On Sept. 30, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Police Officers Michael Miranda and Ryan
Capogna, responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifter in custody of store
security. An on-scene investigation revealed a woman, identified as 37-year-old Cemile Okumus
of Jersey City, was seen scanning only a portion of the merchandise she had in her bag, before
trying to leave with $89.30 of unpaid items. She was arrested for shoplifting and transported to
an area hospital, before being released with a summons.
12. On Oct. 1, 2025, at approximately 11 a.m., Bayonne Police transported 28-year-old Dailyn
Bennett of Hoboken, to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Bennett had two warrants out of Hoboken
for trespassing. After he was processed, he was released on bail, with a new court date.
13. On Oct. 1, 2025, at approximately 9:05 p.m. Police Officer David Smentkowski was on
patrol when he observed a vehicle double parked on the 500 block of Jackson Street. He
conducted a random inquiry of the license plate and revealed the registered owner had an active
warrant. He stopped the vehicle, and approached the driver, identified as 24-year-old Dameire
Fitch of Bogata. The warrant out of Hackensack was confirmed, and Fitch was arrested. He was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was ultimately released with a new court date.
14. On Oct. 1, 2025, at approximately 11:25 p.m., 35-year-old Alec Harlow of Dallas, TX,
walked into Hoboken Police Headquarters. It was determined he had recently committed a
package theft on the 50 block of Hudson Street. Harlow was issued a summons for theft and
transported to an area hospital for observation before being released from police custody.
15. On Oct. 2, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Police Officers Marc Lombardi and Joseph
DiMartino responded to The Roost Outpost, 55 First St., on reports of an individual defecating
on the side of the building. The man, later identified as 56-year-old Leroy Jefferson of Hoboken,
was located outside of Hoboken City Hall, 94 Washington St. It was discovered he had three
warrants out of Hoboken and one out of Jersey City. He was released on the scene with a new
court date.
