1. On Oct. 9, 2025, at approximately 2 a.m., Police Officers
David Smentowski and Keven De La Cruz observed a vehicle pass them at an extremely high
rate of speed and reckless manner in the area of Park Avenue and 15th Street. Officers activated
their emergency lights and sirens, but the vehicle did not stop and continued to speed further
away from the patrol car. The officers deactivated the lights and sirens as a safety measure. They
later located the vehicle in the area of 11th Street and Sinatra Drive and were successfully able to
conduct a traffic stop. Both occupants were ordered out of the car. The driver, who refused to
give his name, was not wearing shoes, had a dazed appearance, and spoke very slowly. Police
Officer Ricky Truppner arrived on the scene to give the driver a field sobriety test, after which he
was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Sgt. Michael Losurdo arrived on the scene to assist.
The passenger in the car was identified as 46-year-old Joseph Raftery of Bayonne and was
identified as the owner of the vehicle. It was also discovered; he had been driving the vehicle
earlier in the evening and switched with the other man. Raftery was also given a field sobriety
test, after which he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Both men were transported to the
Hoboken Police Department where the unidentified man refused to submit to fingerprinting. He
was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, hindering one's own apprehension,
and hindering the apprehension of another, and transported to the Hudson County Correction
Center. He was later identified as 26-year-old Anthony Giordano of Watchung, and it was
learned he had an extraditable warrant out of Stroudsburg, PA. He was further charged with
being a fugitive from justice. Raftery was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless
driving, and hindering. As per John’s Law he was released into the custody of a responsible
party.
2. On Oct. 10, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., Det. Connor Milne, Det. Paul Quinn, and Police
Officers Nicholas Protopapadakis and Joshua Campoverde responded to Union City, to arrest 40-
year-old Flavio Ordonez of Union CIty, on multiple charges related to multiple package thefts in
the same residential building in Hoboken. A follow-up investigation, led by Officer
Campoverde, identified Ordonez as the actor. On Oct. 10, Ordonez was located in the vehicle
used in the thefts, and he was ordered out of the car. He was ultimately transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters for processing and refused to be fingerprinted. He was charged with theft,
burglary, receiving stolen property, and refusal to fingerprint. He was transported to the Hudson
County Correctional Facility.
3. On Oct. 10, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Police Officers John Lawton and Leroy
Sherrill were flagged down on the 400 block of Marshall Street on reports of a physical
altercation that had occurred 15 minutes earlier on the 500 block of Jackson Street. Sgt. Roary
Miller and Police Officers Stephen Chowanec, Nicholas Losurdo, David Smentkowski, and
Marvin Dejesus arrived on the scene to assist. An on-scene investigation revealed an individual,
identified as 24-year-old Musiq Lee of Hoboken, attacked another woman, hitting her in the head
with a closed fist, while brandishing a knife. The fight continued until bystanders pulled Lee off
of the victim. Further investigation determined Lee had also slashed the other person, causing
injuries to her rib cage and arm. During the investigation, Officer Chowanec observed Lee take a
knife out of her pocket and give it to another person, later identified as 25-year-old Genesis
Colon of Jersey City, who tried to hide it behind her back. Lee and Colon were arrested. During
the arrest, Colon tried to resist by tensing up. Both women were transported to Hoboken Police
Headquarters. Lee was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon,
possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, obstruction, and tampering with evidence. Colon
was charged with tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, obstruction, unlawful
possession of a weapon, and possession of unlawful purposes. After being processed, they were
both transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
4. On Oct. 12, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Police Officers Anish Bhisey and Trevor
Thomas were on the 400 block of Washington Street when they observed two men, later
identified 21-year-old Victor Perez of Jersey City and 23-year-old Victor Schinzel of North
Bergen, in a fight. The officers attempted to arrest the two men, but they both resisted. Both were
eventually handcuffed and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Police Officers Nicholas
Losurdo, Ronald Kibitlewski, and David Smentkowski arrived on the scene to assist. Perez and
Schinzel were both charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and simple assault. Perez
was released from custody with a copy of his summons. Schinzel had a warrant out of Toms
River, and Toms River Police took custody of him that evening.
5. On Oct. 12, 2025, at approximately 8:25 a.m., Police Officers Shawn Sodora and Anthony
Rutkowski responded to the 200 block of Harrison Street on reports of someone sleeping in the
hallway. They located a man, later identified as 23-year-old Benarld Mota of Union City, siting
on the second-floor landing of the stairs and he could not provide a reason for being in the
building. He provided officers with false identification at first. He was arrested for defiant
trespassing and hindering and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. It was discovered he
had an open warrant out of Union City. After processing, he was transported to the Hudson
County Correctional Facility.
6. On Oct. 12, 2025, at approximately 9:55 a.m., Sgt. Adam Colon and Police Officers Jonathan
Figueroa and Aaron Font responded to Acme, 614 Clinton St., on reports of a shoplifting, where
the actor had already left the scene. An on-scene investigation revealed the individual entered the
store, put two packs of steak and two cans of crab meat into a bag, and left without paying. Sgt.
Colon located a man who matched the actor’s description near the intersection of Seventh and
Madison Streets. It was discovered the man, identified as 47-year-old Akibia Ling of Jersey City,
had a warrant out of Jersey City. He was transported to the Hoboken Police Department. He was
found to be in possession of three empty wax folds. He was charged with shoplifting and
possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also processed on the warrant for possession of drug
paraphernalia out of Jersey City. He was found to be in possession of several counterfeit dollar
bills, and he was additionally charged with forgery. Ling was transported to the Hudson County
Correctional Facility.
7. On Oct. 14, 2025, at approximately 2:35 p.m., Police Officer Christopher Barral responded to
the 900 block of Madison Street on reports of a man and woman arguing. Police Officers Harry
Montalvo, Anthony Hochstadter, Shawn Sodora, and Remy Garcia-Marte also responded. An
on-scene investigation revealed the woman, later identified as 38-year-old Nohemi Reyes of
Hoboken, hit and kicked the man’s car, spit on him, and pulled a knife on him while threatening
to injure him. Sgt. Adam Colon arrived on the scene. Officers located a knife in Reyes’
possession. She was arrested and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where she was
processed on charges of possession of weapons for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a
weapon, simple assault, harassment, and making terroristic threats. She was given a court date
and released on a summons.
8. On Oct. 14, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Sgt. Harold Milne and Police Officers Roberto
Cuevas and Rose Kanana responded Bangkok City Thai, 335 Washington St., on reports of a
disorderly individual harassing other customers and refusing to leave. Upon arrival, officers
located the man, later identified as 21-year-old Moustapha Douyouma of Bayonne, and told him
if he didn’t leave he would be arrested for trespassing. He continued to refuse to leave and he
was arrested. Douyouma was charged with trespassing and harassment, and transported to an
area hospital, where he was released from custody with a summons.
9. On Oct. 14, 2025, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Police Officers Shyenna Vera and Michael
Miranda observed an individual lying on a bench in front of Hoboken City Hall, 94 Washington
St. They identified him as 55-year-old Donald Gilbert and believed he had an open warrant for
his arrest. Officers observed him to be in possession of an open bottle of alcohol. A warrant for
public urination was confirmed, and Gilbert was arrested. He was transported to an area hospital,
issued a summons for possession of an open container and laying on a public bench, and released
from custody.
10. On Oct. 15, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Police Officers Christopher Barral and Ryan
Capogna responded to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office to pick up 46-year-old Julio Pineda of
West New York on a warrant out of Hoboken for failure to appear on an unlicensed driver ticket.
He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and processed on the warrant before being
released on bail with a new court date.
11. On Oct. 15, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Police Officers Dylan Archilla and Frank
Losurdo responded to the 1200 block of Grand Street on reports of an individual sitting on a
bench, making others concerned for their safety. Officers identified the woman as 31-year-old
Andrea Ojeda of Hoboken, who had displayed aggressive behavior during prior interactions with
officers that day. Police Officers John Lawton and Alyssa Rivera arrived on the scene to assist. It
was discovered Ojeda had a failure to appear warrant from the Hudson County Sheriff's Office,
and she was placed under arrest. It was also discovered she had an outstanding warrant out of
Hoboken for criminal mischief. After being processed, she was ultimately transported to the
Hudson County Correctional Facility.
