Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

Please note that the vendor that supports our Code Red messaging system is still experiencing technical issues with all their customers nationwide and they are currently unable to deliver our Borough phone messages. We expect to have a replacement solution shortly.

The Recreation Winter Program, Sports & Event Guide is available now. Visit the Borough website under Parks & Recreation for details and you can sign up on Community Pass.

The Tenafly Library Friends are excited to present two great programs in the coming week. First, on Tuesday, December 2 at 11:00 am at the library photographer Ruth Plucinski will discuss her process and use of photography as she explores new places. Ms. Plucinski’s work is currently being displayed in the library gallery. Then on Thursday, December 4 at 10:30 am in the library enjoy an Author Talk with renowned nutrition specialist, Dr. Marie-Pierre St-Onge who will discuss her book, Eat Better, Sleep Better. She will show how this important connection enhances health and helps prevent disease.

This week the Nature Center has something for everyone! On Sunday, November 30, join the Trail Running Essentials workshop: learn to run safely and confidently while enjoying the beautiful autumn trails. And Winter Break Camp is coming soon on December 24, 26, 29, 30, and 31: five days of snowy hikes, crafts, and hands-on fun for kids to celebrate the season in nature. It is time for the Christmas season open house at the Presbyterian Church. Saturday, December 13, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Festive treats in the Church House Café, crèche festival in the old Chapel and the newly decorated sanctuary, with Christmas caroling at 4:00 pm. Free of charge, donations welcome. 55 Magnolia Avenue.

Experience the Community Choir and Orchestra concert, Sunday December 14, at 7:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church. Festive favorites, including excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine, Rutter’s What Sweeter Music, Holst’s Christmas Day, and secular music of the season, with carols for all to join in. Free of charge.

The Tenafly Chamber of Commerce invites vendors, sponsors, and performers to join the Tenafly Holiday Fair on Sunday, December 14, Noon to 5:00 pm in downtown Tenafly. Learn more at Tenaflychamber.org/holiday-fair

The Senior Center is holding a trip to see “CHESS” on Broadway on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Tickets are $210.00. Orchestra seats and transportation are included. Lunch is on your own.
