Paul Yang
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces the arrest of Paul Yang, 32, of
Leonia, New Jersey. Mr. Yang was arrested on December 3, 2025, after an investigation
conducted by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.
On October 22, 2025, the Institutional Abuse Investigation Unit of the Division of Child
Protection and Permanency advised PCPO Special Victims Unit Detectives that a 9-year-old
female student at Paterson Public School No. 25 had disclosed that an incident of abuse took
place inside a classroom during the school day. The investigation led to Mr. Yang being charged
with one count of Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S. 2C:14-2b and one count of second degree
Endangering the Welfare of a Child, in violation of N.J.S. 2C:24-4a(1).
The sentencing exposure is five to ten years in New Jersey State Prison on second degree
Sexual Assault and five to ten years in New Jersey State Prison on second degree Endangering
the Welfare of a Child. On December 4, 2025, Mr. Yang appeared for Central Judicial
Processing Court and the State filed a Motion for Pretrial Detention. That Motion will be
scheduled and heard before a Superior Court Judge.
A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite the accusation, defendants are
presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, in a court of law.
