The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the North Bergen Police Department are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Just before 6:30 a.m., the North Bergen Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Bergenline Avenue and JFK Boulevard East. Responding officers located an injured male – later identified as Alan Harris, 66, of Hackensack – who had been struck by a NJ Transit bus, which remained at the scene. Harris was transported to Palisades Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injuries on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit assumed control of the investigation on Thursday, December 11, 2025 after being notified of the victim’s death. This matter remains under investigation by the
Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit with assistance from the North Bergen Police Department.
