On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested a Jersey City man after investigating a report that a male sent explicit messages to a juvenile.
Stanley Ruiz, 40, is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(2), a crime of the third degree, and Lewdness in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-4a, a disorderly persons offense. He was arrested at his residence and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
In March 2025, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received information that an adult male sent explicit messages and images to a female juvenile through the social media application Discord. The victim, who lives out of the country, identified herself as a juvenile to the defendant multiple times.
Acting Prosecutor Mello credited the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force with the arrest and investigation, with assistance by federal and international law enforcement partners. The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
