On Friday, November 28, 2025, during the evening hours, Millburn Police responded to a residence on
Myrtle Avenue for a reported burglary. The suspect gained entry through an unlocked door and stole
multiple items. The Millburn Detective Bureau investigated the incident and was able to identify the
suspect. On Saturday, November 29, 2025, Millburn Police responded to Fort Lee and arrested the
suspect. The 20-year-old male from Baltimore MD was charged with conspiracy, burglary, and theft of
movable property, and was lodged in the Essex County Jail.
On November 30, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Genitempo responded to single vehicle crash on Rt 124
and Hobart Gap Rd. The investigation led to the arrest of Timothy O’Brien, age 59, of Short Hills for
suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and later released to an acquaintance.
On December 7, 2025, Millburn Officer Bifano conducted a motor vehicle stop of a 1995 Buick LeSabre
on Route 124 for motor vehicle violations. The driver was found to have an active arrest warrant issued
by the New Jersey State Police, Sussex County Barracks. During the stop, Officer Bifano observed
multiple open alcoholic containers inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed
approximately 300 small baggies, a small bag containing a white powdery substance believed to be crack
cocaine, and a straw containing white powder residue. Carlos Benitez-Garcia was placed under arrest and
charged with possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. The New Jersey State Police
responded to the scene and assumed custody of Benitez-Garcia.
On December 7, 2025, during the early morning hours, Millburn Police located an abandoned stolen
vehicle parked on Wyoming Avenue. Officers then discovered a nearby residence on Wyoming Avenue
that had been burglarized. The actors gained entry through an unlocked window and stole the
homeowner’s vehicle from the driveway. The vehicle was later recovered in the Bronx, NY. The incident
remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On December 13, 2025, Millburn Police Sergeants Royce and DeRosa stopped two pedestrians on
Millburn Avenue for failing to obey a traffic control device. During the investigation, the individuals
were found in possession of stolen merchandise from PetSmart, as well as suspected CDS and drug
paraphernalia. As a result, Solomion Davis, age 60, and Rashirah Barns, age 46, both of Newark, were
arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, possession of CDS, and possession of drug
paraphernalia.
On December 16, 2025 Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to Macy’s on a report a customer
that got her purse stolen. The Victim stated she put her purse down to shop and when she turned around it
was gone. Millburn Officers located the suspect involved. The investigation led to the arrest of Tatiana
Quiza, age 51, of Elizabeth. She was charged with theft of movable property.
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or
are found guilty in a court of law.
