Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge
Patrick Murray announce that at approximately 12:43 a.m. on December 22, 2025, members of the
Paterson Police Department responded to the area of 12th Avenue and Auburn Street on a report of
a shooting. Police learned that a 23-year-old female victim from Hewitt, New Jersey had arrived
at St. Jospeh’s University Medical Center in Paterson seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot
wound. Police were able to locate a potential crime scene in the area.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes
available.
