Harrington Park Man Pleads Guilty to Murder of Co-Worker

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced a guilty plea entered in Bergen County Superior Court in the matter of the State of New Jersey vs. CHRISTIAN V. GIRON, 28, of Harrington Park, NJ. This plea agreement was in connection with the 2021 murder of 43-year-old Jeanette A. Willem that took place in Northvale, NJ.

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at approximately 8:15 a.m., the Northvale Police Department responded to a report of a person severely injured at a private business on Ludlow Avenue in Northvale, NJ. Arriving officers located 43-year-old Jeanette A. Willem deceased from a head wound. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit was notified, responded to the scene, and initiated a joint investigation with the Northvale Police Department. The investigation revealed that CHRISTIAN V. GIRON, a co-worker, intentionally struck Jeanette A. Willem over the head with a hammer inside the business. Within hours of the murder, GIRON was identified as the suspect, located and taken into custody by investigators.

On December 12, 2025, during a proceeding in Bergen County Superior Court before the Honorable Christopher R. Kazlau, J.S.C., CHRISTIAN V. GIRON pleaded guilty to first-degree homicide, N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3A(1). Specifically, the defendant agreed to a negotiated guilty plea in which the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office will seek punishment of fifty years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the provisions of New Jersey’s No Early Release Act (“NERA”), which requires a defendant to serve at least 85% of the sentence before they can be eligible for parole.

The State was represented by Assistant Prosecutors Stephen Bollenbach and Kristin Rempusheski of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. The defendant was represented by Mario Blanch, Esq. Sentencing has been scheduled for February 6, 2026, in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.
