The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Union City Police Department are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., the Union City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of 30th Street and Palisades Avenue. Responding officers located a female victim – later identified as Fabiola Bedoya, 83, of Union City – with serious injuries. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene. She was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead just after 6:15 p.m.
During the initial investigation, the vehicle suspected of being involved in the collision was located and a person of interest was identified. This matter is actively being investigated by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit.
