The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Monday, December 29, 2025.
At approximately 8 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a possible pedestrian struck on Tonnelle Avenue near North Street. Responding officers located the body of a lifeless male on the northbound side of the road. The male, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.
