Theft
01/06/2026-Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male filled a shopping cart with various grocery items and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $251.76. This incident is under investigation.

01/07/2026-Officers responded to the area of Appleton Road on a report of a Theft from Auto. A resident parked his vehicle near the residence and when he returned to it the following morning, he noticed it was rummaged through. Vehicle documents and $20.00 were missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

01/08/2026-Victor Hodge age 40 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed sneakers in a bag and attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $121.64. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

01/08/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female took a winter coat and left the store without paying. The item was valued at $69.99. This incident is under investigation.

01/08/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed two pairs of sneakers in a duffle bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $159.98. This incident is under investigation.

01/08/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Franklin Street on report of a Package Theft. According to a resident, three of her packages were taken from the mail room area. The packages contained hair products and pillow cases valued at $129.70. This incident is under investigation.

01/09/2026-Vincent Russomano age 44 of Bayville NJ. Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed meat in his jacket and attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $54.93. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

01/09/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed socks in his jacket then approached the register with a shopping cart full of various clothing items. The male did not have money to pay for the items, however attempted to leave the store without paying for the socks. The items were valued at $124.92. Loss prevention approached the male and recovered the items, however, the suspect fled the scene. This incident is under investigation.

01/09/2026-Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, seven juveniles took various candy items and left the store without paying. This incident is under investigation.

01/011/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue on report of a Theft from Auto. The complainant parked his vehicle while he was delivering Amazon packages in the area. When he returned to it, he noticed a male rummaging through the center console. The suspect fled when he noticed the complainant. A wallet and $400.00 was missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Theft
01/06/2026-Officers responded to 154 Bloomfield Avenue (XClusive Auto) on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. While taking inventory, the owner noticed a vehicle that was listed for sale was now missing from the lot. The vehicle, a white 2021 Acura TLX, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

01/10/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Williamson Avenue on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident parked her vehicle in the driveway of the residence at 2:00p.m. and at 5:00p.m., she noticed it was missing. The key fob was left in the vehicle. The vehicle, a gray 2023 BMW X7, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

Burglary
01/07/2025-Officers responded to the 200 block of Franklin Street on report of a Burglary. A resident returned from work at 2:50pm and noticed the kitchen window was open. He then noticed drawers opened throughout the bedroom. Several jewelry items valued at $150,000 and $50,000 in cash were missing. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
