1. On Dec. 25, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Sgt. Daniel Grossi was driving on Third Street
near Washington Street when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and fail to
stop at multiple red lights. He pulled the vehicle over and approached the driver, later identified
as 43-year-old Antonio Sanchez of Jersey City. Sgt. Grossi observed Sanchez to have blood shot
eyes, slurred speech, and slow movements. He also detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage
emanating from his breath. It was discovered that the registration on the vehicle had expired. A
field sobriety test was conducted, after which Sanchez was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was issued summonses for driving
under the influence, reckless driving, failure to observe signal, unregistered vehicle, unlicensed
driver, and failure to exhibit documents. As per John’s Law, Sanchez was released into the
custody of a responsible party.
2. On Dec. 28, 2025, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Sgt. Michael Straten observed a vehicle driving
over the yellow double line, on Washington Street, near Observer Highway. The vehicle passed
Sgt. Straten and began traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was pulled over, and the
driver, later identified as 54-year-old Yesenia Gonzalez of Jersey City, had slurred speech and
bloodshot eyes. Police Officers Marvin DeJesus and Ricky Truppner arrived on scene. A strong
odor of alcoholic beverages was detected emanating from Gonzalez breath. A field sobriety test
was performed, after which Gonzalez was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was
transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. She was issued summonses for driving while
intoxicated, reckless driving, improper passing over double yellow line. As per John’s Law,
Gonzalez was released into the custody of a responsible party.
3. On Dec. 28, 2024, at approximately 6:22 a.m., Police Officers Zackary Guido and Michael
Miranda responded to Hoboken University Medical Center, 308 Willow Ave., on reports that a
hospital security guard was assaulted while trying to escort an individual out of the facility. The
individual, identified as 28-year-old Kevin Nguyen of Irvington, was still on the scene and
refused to leave with officers. It was confirmed that Nguyen had two outstanding warrants; one
out of Linden and the other out of Jersey City. A search incident to arrest found him to be in
possession of a glass cylindrical pipe with burnt ends and copper mesh. He was transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and refusal of
fingerprinting. After processing, he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
4. On Dec. 28, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., Police Officer John Rodriguez was on patrol at
Church Square Park when he observed a vehicle parked in a no-parking zone on the 400 block of
Park Avenue. While he was investigating, an individual, later identified as 40-year-old James
Tucker of Hoboken, approached the officer and harassed him, by coming up too close and
ignoring commands to step back. He was advised that if he ignored commands again, he would
be arrested, and Tucker responded aggressively with profanities. Tucker was arrested for
obstruction of the administration of law. He was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters
and ultimately released with a summons.
5. On Dec. 28, 2025, at approximately 8:05 p.m., Police Officer Christopher Barral responded to
Trader Joe’s, 1350 Willow Ave., on reports of a disorderly person. They observed the individual,
identified as 32-year-old Andrea Ojeda of Hoboken, leaving the store and walking northbound
toward Willow Avenue. Police Officers Adrian Comayagua, Kyle Seper, and Jessica Pizanie
arrived to assist. Ojeda was detained. An on-scene investigation revealed that earlier in the day,
Ojeda was told by employees that she was not welcome in the store. This time, she sat in the
corner of the vestibule. She was arrested for defiant trespassing and transported to Hoboken
Police Headquarters for processing. It was discovered she had a warrant out of Hoboken. She
was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
6. On Dec. 29, 2025, at approximately 4:50 p.m. Police Officer Alexander Miller confirmed that
a prisoner being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility, identified as 41-year-old Ricardo
Clark of Secaucus, had a warrant out of Hoboken. Clark had been arrested in East Orange, and
he also had a warrant of West New York, two out of Jersey City, and one out of North Carolina.
Hoboken Police Officers ultimately picked him up and transported to the Hudson County
Correctional Facility.
7. On Dec. 29, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Police Officers Leroy Sherrill and Roberto
Cuevas were on the 300 block of Jackson Street when they observed a man they could identify as
23-year-old Ahmad Bryant of Hoboken, who they knew had an active warrant. The warrant out
of Jersey City was confirmed, and Bryant was placed under arrest. He was transported to
Hoboken Police Headquarters. Bail was posted, and Bryant was released from police custody.
8. On Dec. 30, 2025, at approximately 2 p.m., Police Officer Christopher Barral responded to
Hoboken Municipal Court for an individual found to have violated probation. When he arrived,
he met with Police Officers John Rodriguez and John Lawton, who had arrested 39-year-old
Eugene Ortiz of Jersey City after a 15-day suspended sentence was ordered to be enforced. Ortiz
was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing, before ultimately being taken to
the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
9. On Dec. 31, 2025, at approximately 11 p.m., Police Officers Zackary Guido and Thomas
Graziano were flagged down in the area of Third and Washington Streets by someone who told
them another person was highly intoxicated near the intersection of Court and Third Streets,
hitting glass windows of a business, and hitting vehicles in the area. Police Officers Stephen
Chowanec, Ronald Kibitlewski, Shyenna Vega, John Rodriguez, Mario Rodriguez, and
Christopher Soto arrived to assist. The individual, later identified as 24-year-old Alejandro Perez
of Secaucus, was laying in the middle of Court Street, screaming, and actively causing a scene.
When officers tried to make contact with him, he approached them aggressively and spit at them.
Sgt. Michael Losurdo arrived on the scene and Perez continued his aggressive behavior. He was
arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters. He was taken to
an area hospital for treatment and released on a summons into the care of the hospital.
