Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Haledon Chief of Police Angelo Daniele
announce that on February 4, 2026, at approximately 2:38 p.m. a motor vehicle collision
involving a Nissan Altima and a Ford Escape occurred in the area of Hobart Avenue and Tilt
Street in Haledon, New Jersey. The side passenger in the Ford Escape, identified as a 69-year-old
male from Haledon, was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was
pronounced deceased. Three other occupants of the Ford Escape and the driver of the Nissan
Altima were also transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for further evaluation.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes
available.
