Acting Attorney General Jennifer Davenport and the Division of Consumer Affairs (“Division”) announced today that Morris County neurologist Jonathan Fellus has been suspended from the practice of medicine while the State seeks to revoke his license for allegedly failing to comply with restrictions and conditions placed on his license as a result of previous sexual misconduct.

The State is petitioning the Board of Medical Examiners (“Board”) to revoke Fellus’s medical license based on evidence that he violated a 2018 Consent Order requiring him to have a chaperone present when seeing female patients. Fellus agreed to the chaperone requirement as a condition of the Board’s reinstatement of his medical license, which had been revoked four years earlier as a result of his improper relationship with a patient. The 2018 Consent Order also imposed additional practice restrictions on Fellus –including a ban on social contact with female patients–to prevent future misconduct and further protect the public.

The State is suspending Fellus’s license and moving to revoke his license after finding that Fellus, who primarily practices at Advanced Neurocare in Randolph, sought to evade the chaperone requirement and tried to conceal his failure to comply with the chaperone requirement by falsely claiming he sees female patients at a location in New York, where he is permitted to practice without restrictions. Fellus also allegedly contacted female patients to discourage them from cooperating with Board investigators seeking to determine if Fellus was complying with his chaperone requirement.

“Patients place a great deal of trust in their medical providers, and allegations that a physician has repeatedly ignored safeguards required to protect patients are extremely concerning,” said Acting Attorney General Davenport. “Physicians who continue to place patients at risk will lose their licenses and face serious consequences for their misconduct.”

“This doctor’s alleged conduct, if proven, demonstrates an utter contempt for the Board’s authority and a disregard for patient safety that will not be tolerated,” said Jeremy E. Hollander, Acting Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs. “Temporarily removing him from practice until this matter is resolved is necessary to protect the public.”

In an Interim Consent Order (“Interim Order”) filed with the Board on January 14, 2026, Fellus agreed to the temporary suspension of his license pending a hearing on the allegations against him and further action by the Board. The Interim Order also expressly prohibits Fellus from serving as Medical Director at any Complete Wellness Spa location or other medical practice in the State of New Jersey.

Under the terms of the Interim Order, Fellus agrees that he will not treat New Jersey residents at any location, either within or outside New Jersey, until the conclusion of a full trial on the facts alleged in the Verified Complaint or further order of the Board. While suspended from practice, Fellus is prohibited from supervising any health practitioner in connection with the practice of medicine in New Jersey, including acting as a medical director at any medical practice or medical spa in the state. He is barred from charging, receiving, or sharing in any fee for professional services rendered in New Jersey by him or others after February 4, 2026.

The State is represented in this matter by Deputy Attorney General Daniel Evan Leef Hewitt, under the supervision of Section Chief Doreen A. Hafner, of the Professional Boards Prosecution Section, within the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Practice Group of the Division of Law. Investigators with the Enforcement Bureau within the Division of Consumer Affairs conducted the investigations.
