Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 32-year-old CORY J. HAVENS of VAUXHALL, NJ for false swearing under oath. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer.
On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigations Unit was conducting an administrative investigation that was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office by the Palisades Park Police Department. During the course of the investigation, CORY J. HAVENS, a Palisades Park Police Officer, provided false statements to detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office while under oath.
As a result of the investigation, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, CORY J. HAVENS was arrested in Hackensack, NJ and charged with fourth-degree false swearing, N.J.S.A. 2C:28-2a. HAVENS was released pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Palisades Park Police Department for their assistance in this matter.
