Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge
Patrick Murray announce that at approximately 12:40 p.m. on February 14, 2026, members of the
Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Market Street and Main Street on a report of
a shooting. Police located a 68-year-old female victim from Paterson, suffering from a non-fatal
gunshot wound. The victim was transported to St. Jospeh’s University Medical Center in Paterson
for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound. Members of the Paterson Police Department located
a potential crime scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes
available.
