02/16/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took clothes off a rack, put them on, then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $139.97. This incident is under investigation.

02/16/2026-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed Starbucks Coffee Pods in a bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $79.90. This incident is under investigation.

02/17/2026-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male concealed multiple laundry detergent pods in a bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $32.45. This incident is under investigation.

02/18/2026-Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Staples) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male placed an Epson EcoTank printer in a shopping cart then left the store without paying. The item was valued at $349.99. This incident is under investigation.

02/18/2026-Darlyn Rosa-Lebron age 29 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed water fittings in a fanny pack then attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $214.29. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

02/19/2026-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male concealed multiple items in a basket then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $255.00. This incident is under investigation.

02/20/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, two males took a Nike bag from the rack, filled it with socks and sneakers then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $491.51. This incident is under investigation.

02/20/2026-Officers responded to the area of Summit Avenue on report of a Catalytic Converter Theft. A resident parked his vehicle near the residence on 02/19/2026 at 5:00p.m. When he returned to the vehicle the following day, he noticed it was not operating properly. A mechanic confirmed the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.

02/20/2026-Officers responded to the area of Martin Street on report of a Catalytic Converter Theft. A resident parked his vehicle near the residence on 02/19/2026 at 4:00p.m. When he returned to the vehicle the following morning, he noticed it was not operating properly. A mechanic confirmed the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.

02/20/2026-Officers responded to the area of Howard Street on report of a Catalytic Converter Theft. A resident parked his vehicle near the residence on 02/19/2026 at 6:00p.m. When he returned to the vehicle the following morning, he noticed it was not operating properly. A mechanic confirmed the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.

02/21/2026-Officers responded to 17 Belleville Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a female concealed multiple items in a tote bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $171.60. This incident is under investigation.

02/21/2026-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Theft at 19 Belleville Avenue (Super Fresh). The resident was parked in front of the store when he was approached by a male driving a gray SUV. The male offered him a necklace but he refused. Two females then exited the SUV as he exited his vehicle and placed a gold necklace around his neck. The resident then noticed his gold necklace missing from his neck and that the new one was fake. The necklace was valued at $1,500.00. This incident is under investigation.

02/22/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male filled a black bag with socks then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $217.91. This incident is under investigation.

02/22/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female filled a tote bag with various items then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $119.97. This incident is under investigation

02/18/2026-Janithan Etheard age 18 of Bloomfield NJ. Officers responded to the area of Conger Street on report of a Theft from Auto. According to the security officer, a male was pulling on several door handles of vehicles. Officers were able to locate the suspect still in the area. The suspect was in possession of loose change, a watch and a bank card which did not belong to him. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

02/18/2026-Officers responded to the area of Farrand Street on report of a Theft from Auto. According to a resident, video surveillance footage from his Tesla captured a male trying to open the door handle of the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. This incident is under investigation.

02/18/2026-A complainant responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Theft from Auto in the area of Thomas Street and Linden Avenue. The complainant parked her vehicle on the street on 02/17/2026 and left it unlocked. When she returned to the vehicle the following morning, she noticed it was rummaged through. A purse containing several credit cards was missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
