Alberto M. Balcazer
On February 26, 2026 at 6:42 A.M., a road rage incident was reported to the Secaucus Police that occurrred on Seaview Drive. After that incident, Alberto M. Balcazer, who was working as a ride share driver, was dropping off his rider at a business located on the 500 block of Meadowlands Parkway. Coincidentally, the other driver involved in the road rage incident worked at the same business on Meadowlands Parkway.
While in the parking lot of the business, Alberto M. Balcazer pulled his vehicle in front of the other vehicle involved in the road rage incident and stopped. The two were engaging in a verbal dispute when Alberto M. Balcazer displayed what was described as a large caliber semi-automatic handgun. It was reported that Alberto M. Balcazer then pointed the handgun at the victim. Alberto M. Balcazer then fled the scene.
The Secaucus Police Department Patrol and Detective Divisions worked collabortively to identify Alberto M. Balcazer’s vehicle. Detectives then responded to Alberto M. Balcazer’s residence in Linden and conducted surveillance until his arrival back home. During a search of his residence, Detectives seized a .50 caliber Desert Eagle Magnum handgun along with hollow point ammunition. Shortly thereafter, Alberto M. Balcazer was placed under arrest.
“Although nobody was injured in this instance, I will caution the public that a simple road rage incident can turn deadly in a matter of seconds,” Chief Dennis Miller said. “I praise the investigative work of my detectives and patrol personnel, which directly led to the swift arrest and seizure of a firearm in this case. When you commit a crime in Secaucus we will come for you!”
Alberto M. Balcazer, 51, of Linden was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun [2C:39-5b(1)], Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4a(1)], Aggravated Assault [2C:12-1b(4)], Terroristic Threats [2C:12-3b] and Possession of Hollow Point Ammuniton [2C:39-3f(1)].
He was lodged in the Hudson County Jail. These charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
