Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.
Thank you again to all the team members at the Department of Public Works for your tremendous accomplishments during the most recent snow storm keeping Tenafly safe and mobile! Thank you!!
Hopefully everyone is getting familiar with the new traffic light movement at the intersection of Dean Drive and East Clinton Avenue. Thank you to our Police Department for the successful rollout of the traffic changes.

The Highwood Ensemble’s oboist, Bob LeClair, will perform with the Fides String Quartet at the Presbyterian Church. Works including a British/Irish folk song, a Canadian work influenced by the composer’s Syrian heritage and another‘s combination of Viennese and Czech influences. Both composers were working oboists before turning to composition! This Saturday, February 28 at 7:00 pm, free of charge.
Families are invited to stop by the Nature Center Camp Open House on February 28 to tour the beautiful grounds and meet the camp staff as you start thinking about summer. You can also get ready for spring with a new session of Family Forest School, where little ones and caregivers enjoy hands-on outdoor adventures together. On March 1, don’t miss “Sap to Syrup,” a sweet and interactive look at how tree sap becomes maple syrup. With all the fresh snow, it’s a wonderful time to get outside and enjoy the snowy trails, everyone is welcome to come up and explore, and if you have snowshoes or cross-country skis, bring them along, as both can be enjoyed on the trails. Space is limited for programs, so please register at tenaflynaturecenter.org, and we hope to see you outdoors enjoying everything our Nature Center has to offer.
The Tenafly Garden Club invites the community to their presentation on Monday, March 2 at 11:30 am in the Garden Room at Davis Johnson Park. The speaker is Eric Nelson, Historic Interpreter, Palisades Interstate Park. His topic is “Cornwallis Headquarters,” which is located in Alpine. RSVP to Vivian DeMarco at vivcape7@aol.com
Join in for some nonsensical fun at the Mad Hatter Tea Party at the Presbyterian Church. Come dressed in your best costume attire (nothing too scary, please)! The Senior Center is organizing a trip to experience Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway! Wednesday, July 8, enjoy a day in NYC and catch the show at 2:00 pm. Tickets are priced at $180.00. The Kaplen JCC Running Program is designed for kids ages 8 to 14 and adults 18+ to discover the joy of running in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Whether participants are brand new to running or looking to build skills and confidence, this program focuses on developing a love for movement while improving endurance, strength, and overall fitness. All sessions are led by experienced Race Faster coaches, who create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate workouts for every level.
