Theft
02/23/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Orange Street on report of a Theft. According to a resident, his snow blower was chained to his front porch at 12:30a.m. When he exited the house the following morning at 8:30a.m., he noticed it was missing. The snowblower was a 22” Yard Machines valued at $850.00. This incident is under investigation.

02/26/2026-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed multiple bottles of laundry detergent in a bag then exited the store without paying. The items were valued at $37.24. This incident is under investigation.

02/26/2026-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Theft from Auto that occurred in the area of Liberty Street. The resident received alerts regarding credit card transactions between 2:30a.m. and 3:30a.m. When the complainant checked her vehicles, she found both vehicles were rummaged through and her purse was missing. Both vehicles were left unlocked. This incident is under investigation.

02/26/2026-Officers responded to the area of Irving Terrace on report of a Theft from Auto. The complainant parked his vehicle near the residence at approximately 3:00p.m. and when he returned to it at approximately 8:00p.m., he noticed $150.00 and a credit card were missing. The vehicle was left unlocked. This incident is under investigation.

02/27/2026-Officers responded to the 200 block of Belleville Avenue on report of a Theft. A resident parked his vehicle in the lot at approximately 3:00p.m. and when he returned to it the following morning, he noticed three of the wheels and tires were missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

02/27/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed several pairs of shoes in a bag and attempted to leave the store without paying. The suspect was confronted by the Loss Prevention Officer and handed over the bag but fled the scene. The items were valued at $239.96. This incident is under investigation.

02/27/2026-Officers responded to 1409 Broad Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, on 02/04/2026, 02/11/2026 and 02/27/2026, the same male filled a shopping cart with various grocery items and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $1500.00. This incident is under investigation.

02/28/2026-Officers responded to the area of Arlington Avenue on report of a Package Theft. A resident had several packages taken from the common area of the building on 01/22/2026, 02/26/2026 and 02/28/2026. The packages contained pet items and groceries valued at $151.05. This incident is under investigation.

02/28/2026-Raymond Jackson, age 64 of Newark, NJ. Officers responded to 1409 Broad Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a repeat shoplifter was attempting to leave the store with a shopping cart full of items that he didn’t pay for. The items were valued at $393.34. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly. The suspect was also charged for shoplifting incidents that occurred on 02/04/2026, 02/11/2026 and 02/27/2026.

02/28/2026-Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male and female concealed numerous cosmetic items in a backpack then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $1352.90. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
