Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray announce that on February 27, 2026, at approximately 1:21 p.m.,
members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of 140 Marshall Street
in Paterson on a report of an unresponsive male. When officers arrived, they located a 32-year-old homeless man inside a tent with a severe injury to the back of the head. He was pronounced
deceased at the scene.
An investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes
available.
