On February 13, 2026 Millburn Police Officer Griffin located a stolen vehicle, 2015 Lexus RC3
parked in the Wendy’s parking lot on Rt 124. The investigation led to the arrest of Daniel
Bowen, age 18, of Piscataway. He was charged with receiving a stolen vehicle and was lodged in
Essex County Correctional facility.
On February 15, 2026, Millburn Police Department Officer Matos conducted a motor vehicle
stop of a BMW X6 in the area of The Mall at Short Hills after observing fictitious temporary
license plates displayed on the vehicle. Further inspection revealed that the vehicle identification
number (VIN) had been altered. Officers were able to locate the true VIN, and a records check
determined the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Connecticut. Nicholas McCullen, age 39,
of Brooklyn, was charged with Receiving Stolen Property, altering a Vehicle’s VIN, and
Displaying Fictitious License Plates.
On February 22, 2026, Millburn Police Department Detective Wichelns concluded a theft
investigation at a residence on Bodwell Terrace. The homeowners reported that cash and other
valuables had gone missing from their home and stated they suspected their cleaning woman.
During the course of the investigation, Detective Wichelns obtained additional video evidence
capturing another theft. As a result, Anakarina Brady, age 60, of Plainfield, was arrested and
charged with Theft of Movable Property.
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty
plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
