Theft
03/04/2026-Officers responded to 425 Bloomfield Avenue (Bloomfield BMW) on report of a Theft from Auto. According to the manager, video surveillance footage shows a BMW X1 enter the lot and park behind customer vehicles near the service department. Two males then exit the X1, break the driver’s window of a blue BMW 335i and remove several engine parts as well as the headlights. This incident is under investigation.

03/04/2026-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took several bags of candy then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $374.74. This incident is under investigation.

03/04/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female took two baseball hats from the shelf then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $25.98. This incident is under investigation.

03/04/2026-Officers responded to 357 Broad Street (Quick Chek) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a juvenile male took candy items then left the store without paying. Officers located the suspect nearby with the proceeds. The officers returned the merchandise to the store and called the juvenile’s mother who took custody of him from the scene.

03/06/2026-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Package Theft from the area of Lackawanna Plaza. The resident received a notification that a package was delivered on 02/11/2026, however, the package was never received. The package contained coffee pods valued at $54.00. This incident is under investigation.

03/06/2026-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Package Theft from the 100 block of Newark Avenue. According to video footage, a female wearing an Amazon vest took two packages from his front porch. The packages contained lightbulbs and lug nuts valued at $70.00. This incident is under investigation.

03/07/2026-Officers responded to the area of Van Winkle Street on report of a Package Theft. A resident received a notification that a package was delivered at 10:37a.m. and when she went to retrieve it at 11:00a.m, it was missing. The package contained dog food valued at $75.00. This incident is under investigation.

03/07/2026-Krista Evans age 55 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 600 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar General) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a female concealed various personal hygiene products in her overalls then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $58.20. Officers located the suspect nearby and placed her under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

Burglary
03/02/2026-Officers responded to the area of Day Street on report of a Burglary. A resident arrived home and noticed the rear door of the residence was open. The resident then noticed that the house was ransacked but found nothing missing at the time. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time.
