Theft
03/10/2026-Johnny Flournoy age 47 of Newark NJ. Officers
responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting.
According to a store employee, a male concealed several bottles of
shampoo and conditioner then left the store without paying. The items
were valued at $277.51. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby.
The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Bloomfield
Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.
03/12/2026-Officers responded to 600 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar
General) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a
male entered the store carrying two empty bags, but was then observed
leaving with the same bags full of items without paying. This incident is
under investigation.
03/13/2026-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens)
on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took
numerous bags of candy from the shelves then left the store without
paying. The items were valued at $567.70. This incident is under
investigation.
03/13/2026-Officers responded to the area of Alva Street on report of a
Catalytic Converter Theft. A resident parked his vehicle on the street
overnight and when he started it the following morning, he noticed the
catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.
03/13/2026-Officers responded to 160 Broad Street (Bloomfield High
School) on report of a Theft. A student left her backpack on her desk
and when she returned, she noticed her Beats headphones were missing.
The item was valued at $250.00. This incident is under investigation.
03/14/2026-Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of
a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, two females took
numerous makeup products then left the store without paying. The items
were valued at $1000.00. This incident is under investigation.
03/15/2026-Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on
report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a
female used the self-checkout to scan $20.00 worth of items but
attempted to leave the store with $90.00 worth of unpaid items. This
incident is under investigation.
03/15/2026-Officers responded to 122 Bloomfield Avenue (7-Eleven)
on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took
several items then left the store without paying. The items were valued
at $61.64. This incident is under investigation.
03/15/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on
report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a
male took several packages of socks from the shelf then left the store
without paying. The items were valued at $203.88. This incident is
under investigation.
03/15/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on
report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a
male took several packages of underwear from the shelf then left the
store without paying. The items were valued at $224.90. This incident is
under investigation.
These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to
the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The
