10/2 Update on Secaucus' Coronavirus Statistics

Posted Fri, Oct 2, 2020, By Staff Writer
This week, Secaucus saw an usually high number of new coronavirus cases. Combine that with the late night report that the U.S. President has contracted COVID-19 himself, this is a stark reminder that the pandemic is still very much an ongoing threat. Last week, we reported that life may be returning to normal with only two newly reported cases of COVID-19 in Secaucus last week. However, the number of new cases jumped significantly to eight this week, bringing the total number of reported cases from 675 last week to 683 this week. So perhaps the recent reopening of schools and businesses have had a larger than expected impact on the virus' infection rate after all. But of course, we have seen one-off spikes in Secaucus' coronavirus statistics before. So there is no reason to conclude that this is a pattern yet. No matter what the statistics for the next few weeks look like, though, this should serve as validation that all the proper safety precautions should continue to be taken to limit further spread of the virus.
