Secaucus Police Arrest Man for Child Pornography

In 2022, Detectives from the Secaucus Police Department joined the ranks of Internet Crimes Against Children [I.C.A.C.] Task Force - New Jersey, which is spearheaded the New Jersey State Police.

On December 2, 2022, members of the Secaucus Police Detective Division and Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office arrested Douglas Curdgele, at his Hagan Place residence. After a month long investigation, led by Secaucus Police Detective Kristen Bronowich, it was confirmed that Douglas Curdgele, 27, both viewed and disseminated a video that depicted children engaging in sexual acts.

“The Secaucus Police Department will take part in any initiative that will protect children from being victimized,” Chief Dennis Miller said. The Secaucus Police Department will work tirelessly with our County and State law enforcement counterparts to hunt child predators and bring them to justice. I am extremely proud of the work my detective put forth.”

“I commend the Secaucus Police Department for investigating this case and its willingness to work collaboratively with law enforcement statewide,” said Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez. “Anyone who is the victim of a sex crime in Hudson County is reminded to contact our Special Victims Unit at 201-915-1234.”

Douglas Curdgele was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child [2C:24-4b(5)(a)(I)] and Endangering the Welfare of a Child [2C:24-4b(5)(b)(III)]. Douglas Curdgele was lodged in the Hudson County Jail. These charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
